I couldn’t have scripted this.
In 2022, on the brink of professional burnout, I moved from working in communications at Meridian Technology Center to coordinating film industry training at the school’s new South Campus in Guthrie. I spent the first year in this new role simply trying to understand the industry. I asked a lot of questions, and with the help of countless (and I do mean countless) Oklahoma filmmakers, the end result is programming that I’m extremely proud of.
In doing this, I also realized there was an opportunity to make it easier for people who want to work in the film industry as well as support those who are doing their part to make Oklahoma an ideal location for filmmakers.
Starting a business was never on my radar. My parents owned a business and I saw first-hand how much time and dedication it takes to be successful. I never wanted to follow in their footsteps, but here I am taking the first step. Sort of.
This isn’t a business. It’s a resource that supports one thing – film in Oklahoma.
As you navigate this website, you won’t find much original content from me. I’m not an expert in this industry, but others are, and that’s the information you’ll find here.
It’s also a work in progress. So, as you search, if there’s other information that would be helpful to be included, send an email to filminoklahoma@gmail.com and I’ll see what I can find.
